Note: Compared with the old M1 Pro+512GB basic model, the new MBP14 and MBP16 M2 Pro+512GB basic models also have hard drive slowdowns. The hard drive read and write speeds are reduced by nearly 20%~50%, just like the 256GB MBA (M2). Same as MBA (M1)’s 256GB. This is caused by the fact that the M2 series uses fewer NAND flash memory particles (256GBx2/256GBx1), while the M1 series uses more NAND flash memory particles (128GBx4/128GBx2).
